Die Mitglieder der SFWA (Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America, www.sfwa.org) vergeben einmal im Jahr den Nebula-Award für die besten Genre-Werke. Der NEBULA-Award gilt neben dem HUGO-Award als die wichtigste amerikanische SF-Auszeichnung, und wird von Profis an Profis verliehen. Die Bekanntgabe der Gewinner findet am 21. Mai 2011 im Washington Hilton, in Washington DC statt.

Meine Anmerkungen dazu:
Connie Willis ist eigentlich mit zwei Romanen nominiert, denn »Blackout« und »All Clear« sind zwei Bücher, zwei Romane, aber sie schließen direkt aneinander an und wurden wohl deshalb gemeinsam nominiert.
Bei den Romanen sind interessante Werke dabei – »Shades of Milk and Honey« von Mary Robinette Kowal wird z.B. als »Stolz und Vorurteil« meets »Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell« beschrieben.
Bei Ray Bradbury-Award ist mein Favorit ganz klar: »Vincent and the Doctor« war eine so schöne »Doctor Who«-Episode, dass ich ihr den Sieg gönnen würde. Hier wurde mit wenigen Mitteln eine wunderbar herzergreifende Geschichte erzählt.
